Naples will host the Neapolitan stage of the Campionato Universitario AI 2026 (University AI Championship 2026), a national contest for students that combines artificial intelligence, open data, and real-world problem solving into a single, high-energy day of competition.
The Naples stop is one of several taking place across Italy as part of a nationwide competition circuit, each hosted by a different university or academic partner.
The championship is open to students, graduating students, and recent graduates under the age of 30. Participants compete in teams of two or three, working together over the course of a single day to design and build an innovative solution using artificial intelligence tools and open data. At the end of the day, each team presents its project to a panel of judges.
The winning team from the Naples stage will receive a €500 prize and earn a place in the National Final, where they will go head-to-head with the winning teams from every other Italian stage of the championship.
Beyond the competition itself, the event will bring together companies and corporate representatives, giving students a valuable opportunity to connect with potential employers and industry professionals working in AI and data science.
For students in data science and related fields, the championship offers a concrete way to test their skills against real problems, experiment hands-on with AI technologies, and measure themselves against peers from other universities — all while building connections with companies actively hiring in the field.
Registration and further details are available on the official Naples stage page and the AI2B Games website.
